Dr. Vinay Kumar

Associate Professor, Physics

With a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Physics from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, my academic journey reflects a profound understanding of the Earth's atmosphere. My expertise spans a decade of research, playing pivotal roles in notable projects, including collaborations with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

Currently serving as an Associate Professor, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Aurora Higher Education and Research Academy (Deemed-to-be University) in Hyderabad, I am deeply committed to advancing our understanding of atmospheric phenomena. My extensive research portfolio encompasses topics such as inertia gravity waves and tidal oscillations, contributing valuable insights to the broader scientific community.

My academic background includes a Master's degree in Physics with a specialization in Electronics, showcasing my multifaceted understanding of the subject. My Bachelor's degree, with electives in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, laid the foundation for my subsequent academic and research pursuits. The culmination of my academic journey is marked by a Ph.D. thesis titled "Role of Gravity Waves and Tides in Tropical Lower Atmosphere over the Indian Peninsula."

In the publication arena, I've left my mark in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals, exploring topics ranging from seasonal effects of atmospheric waves to the impact of cyclones on lower atmospheric dynamics. . Over the years, I've published 30 papers in international and national journals, covering topics like gravity waves, turbulence, tides and environmental factors. Outside the academic hustle, I've been an eager participant in workshops, seminars, and webinars – always eager to stay ahead in the ever-evolving landscape of materials science, online teaching-learning processes, and engineering applications.

Beyond academia, I am proficient in MATLAB and MS-Office, essential tools for my research endeavours. My memberships in prestigious societies, such as the India Meteorological Society (IMS) and Young Earth System Sciences (YESS), underscore my commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments in my field.

Known for my enthusiastic and hardworking demeanor, I possess exceptional problem-solving abilities. My personal and professional growth is evidenced by active participation in numerous conferences, workshops, and webinars. Notably, I have presented research papers at national and international platforms, showcasing my dedication to the continuous pursuit of knowledge and the dissemination of scientific advancements.
