Dr. Thokala Swetha

Dr. Swetha Thokala holds the position of Associate Professor at Aurora Deemed to Be University, located in Hyderabad. She has a solid academic background, earning her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees from Osmania University. She completed her Ph.D. at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) in Hyderabad. Dr. Swetha's professional journey includes various significant roles contributing to her expertise. She served as a Research Associate at the University of Hyderabad, showcasing her commitment to advancing knowledge in her field. Subsequently, she took on the National Postdoctoral Fellow (N-PDF) role at the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K), where she likely continued to delve into cutting-edge research and expanded her academic horizons. Prior to her current position, she worked as a Senior Project Associate at CSIR-IICT, further solidifying her research background.

Her research mainly focuses on innovative areas within materials science. Specifically, her research centers around Dye-sensitized Solar Cells, Perovskite Solar Cells, and Mechano-chromic Materials. These areas represent forefront research in renewable energy, with Dye-sensitized and Perovskite Solar Cells being novel technologies with potential applications in harnessing solar energy. Mechano-chromic Materials involve substances that change color in response to mechanical stimuli, showcasing her diverse research interests and contributions to emerging fields. Dr. Swetha's academic and research journey reflects her dedication to advancing scientific knowledge, particularly in areas crucial for addressing contemporary challenges such as sustainable energy. Her varied roles and research focus underscore her expertise and commitment to significantly contributing to her field.

In addition to her impactful research, Dr. Swetha has made substantial contributions to the scientific literature, having published 24 research articles in reputed national and international journals. Furthermore, she has authored three book chapters, demonstrating her proficiency and influence in disseminating knowledge within her field. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to Chemical Sciences, the Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS), Hyderabad, selected Dr. Swetha as the “Young Scientist of Telangana Academy of Sciences" for the year 2021 in the field of “Chemical Sciences.”
